Change

Eight reasons why change is hard – Verified by Psychology Today

1 – Humans are motivated by negative emotions.

2 – We are overwhelmed with all-or-nothing thinking.

3 – We try to eat the entire elephant, when we can only eat one bite at a time. ?

4 – We neglect the toolbox. We need the right tools to make positive changes in life.

5 – We try to change too much. Focus on changing one thing at a time. Create a plan.

6 – We underestimate the process. Change takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight. Decide what needs to be changed…one thing at a time. Take action. Focus for lasting results to take place.

7 – We forgot that failure is a given. Failure is a steppingstone on the way to success.

8 – We don’t make the commitment. Post the steps that lead to your goals and plan every step of the way. ?

Yes, change is difficult. If it were easy, we would have everything that we needed or wanted. Life skills are not taught. Take time for self-care, learning, prayers, and meditation. We only get better if we keep trying every day. If we miss a day…have grace with yourself and try again tomorrow.
